China Sunergy Co., Ltd., a specialized solar cell manufacturer based in Nanjing, held a foundation-laying ceremony for its Shanghai Research, Development & Production base at Songjiang Industrial Park on November 28.  The Shanghai base will become a center for research, development, production and supply of crystalline silicon solar cells together with Nanjing base, and enhance the technological advantages and competitiveness of China Sunergy.

In December 2007, China Sunergy purchased 150 acres of land in Shanghai Songjiang Industrial Park, and planned to build a world-class solar cell R&D center and plant with an estimated production capacity of 400 MW.

Mr. Sun Jian Ping, head of Songjiang District Government attended at the foundation-laying ceremony on November 28 and addressed a speech.  Mr. Tingxiu Lu, Chairman of China Sunergy, Dr. Allen Wang, CEO of China Sunergy, and Dr. Jianhua Zhao, CTO of China Sunergy attended the ceremony and addressed a speech.
